About Karen Foster Design

Karen Foster Design, one of the scrapbooking industry’s most innovative manufacturers, is a highly successful company grown from Karen Foster’s imagination at her kitchen table in Farmington, Utah in 1998 to its present state - a multi-million dollar, award-winning scrapbook manufacturer headquartered in Centerville, Utah. The company’s growth and expansion is attributed to its commitment to the importance of preserving memories through personal creativity.

In the spring of 1998, Karen Foster created her first set of eight themed papers and her children helped pack and ship the orders from her garage, which served as a warehouse. She added stickers to the line as a complement to the papers and with a burgeoning business to manage; Karen enlisted the help of creative designers. The company has expanded to employ over 25 dedicated employees endeavoring to offer additional product lines such as rub-ons, embellishments, tools, idea books, totes and storage.

The company is a leader in the scrapbooking industry because of its original designs, production of innovative products, attention to new and emerging scrapbook trends and focus on the feedback of scrapbook retailers. Karen Foster Design produces predominantly themed scrapbook products ranging from holidays to sports to everyday life events. Karen Foster Design products are available in approximately 2,000 independent retail outlets across the United States as well as in big box stores and craft chains such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Archivers. Karen Foster Design products are distributed and represented internationally in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, France, Brazil, Mexico, Sweden, Japan and South Africa among others.

Karen Foster Design is consistently recognized as a leader in the scrapbooking industry by both retailers and consumers. The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) and members of the press awarded Karen Foster Design with the prestigious Scrapbooking & Paper Crafts Innovation Award for its ScraparatusTM tool during the 66th Winter CHA Convention and Trade Show in Anaheim, CA in January 2007. The company received the 2007 Best of State Statue award for Manufacturing and Production and has also received recognition with multiple awards and nominations in Craftrends Magazine’s Awards of Creative Excellence and Creating Keepsakes Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

Scrapbooking provides a way to record, preserve and protect memories of the most important moments in life. By providing unique and imaginative scrapbook products Karen Foster Design is actively playing a part in the bigger picture. Not only is the end result --the finished scrapbook-- a treasure, but the process of creating it draws people together in new relationships and new stories.
